Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make provision for compensating certain statutory corporations in respect of financial loss due to compliance with the

right hon. Member for Bristol, South-East wants. It is decidedly nor what the Government want, and that is where the division between the parities really lies.

national policy relating to limitation of prices, and for extending the borrowing powers of certain statutory corporations, it is expedient to authorise:

  1. (1) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of such sums as may be required by virtue of any provision of that Act to enable payments to be made to Area Electricity Boards in England and Wales, the Scottish Electricity Boards, the Central Electricity Generating Boards, the British Gas Corporation or the Post Office;
  2. (2) the issue out of the Consolidated Fund of any sums, or of any increase attributable to that Act in the sums, required by the Treasury for fulfilling any guarantee given in respect of money borrowed by certain corporations established by, or by order made under, any enactment;
  3. (3) the payment of any sums into the Consolidated Fund.—[Mr. Patrick Jenkin.]
