§ 65. Mr. Molsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Agreement of 1926 with Southern Ireland to prevent double taxation will remain in force with the newly-created independent Republic; and what loss of revenue to the British Treasury has resulted from it to date.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallThe answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes." As to the second part, information is not available but I would remind the hon. Member that the Agreement is a reciprocal one which benefits taxpayers of both countries.
§ Mr. MolsonAre there any agreements similar to this with countries which are not still members of the British Commonwealth?
§ Mr. Glenvil HallYes, Sir, we have double taxation agreements with quite a large number of countries not all of which are in the British Commonwealth of Nations.
