Resolved: |
"That House do now adjourn."—[Mr. Cary.] |
Adjourned accordingly at Six Minutes to Ten o'Clock. |
§ other hon. Members may disagree with him. I am comparing this year with other years. We have got to make up our minds whether we are now in a better position this year to say that we can let up than we have been in any other previous year. That seems to me to be a very simple issue, and I think it would be an unfortunate thing if the impression went out from this House that people were being encouraged to start taking things easy, when there never was a time when it was more important to make it clear to everyone that we cannot really let up in our efforts.
§
Question put:
That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty praying that the Order in Council, dated 22nd February, 1945, made under the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, making Regulations entitled the Defence (Good Friday and St. Patrick's Day) Regulations, 1945, a copy of which was presented on 27th February, be annulled.
