§ Mr. AttleeWhat form will the Defence Debate take? Will the Government put a Motion on the Paper?
§ The Prime MinisterYes, I will put a Motion down to-night.
§ Mr. AttleeAs to broadcasting, in view of that being a new service and very important, I hope that it will not be taken at a late hour at night.
§ The Prime MinisterI cannot give a guarantee, but I hope that it will not. The right hon. Gentleman is aware that we have to get through these Supplementary Estimates.
§ Mr. AttleeMay I ask what it is proposed to take to-day in the event of the Motion for the suspension of the Eleven o'Clock Rule being carried?
§ The Prime MinisterThe suspension of the Rule is being moved in order that we may take the Committee stage of the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill, and I hope we shall be able to finish this stage. I do not propose to ask the House to sit beyond midnight.
