HC Deb 25 January 1937 vol 319 cc581-3
Mr. Attlee

May I ask the Prime Minister what business he proposes to take in the event of his Motion suspending the Eleven o'clock Rule being adopted?

The Prime Minister

It is desired to take the first three Orders, the Committee stage of the Money Resolution relating to Chairmen of Traffic Commissioners, and, if there is time, we should like to take the Committee stage of the Statutory

Salaries [Money] Resolution, and also the Report stage of the Livestock Industry [Money] Resolution, which is exempted business.

Mr. Attlee

May we take it that the Livestock Industry [Money] Resolution will not be taken if it comes on very late—after 11 o'clock?

The Prime Minister

I used the words "if there is time." I meant to give them a proper interpretation.

Motion made, and Question put, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Minister.)]
