HC Deb 08 February 1937 vol 320 cc40-1
Mr. Attlee

Will the Prime Minister say what business it is proposed to take in the event of his Motion being carried?

The Prime Minister

We are suspending the Eleven o'Clock Rule to-day in order to make progress with the Supplementary Estimates, beginning with: Board of Education; Public Education, Scotland; Miscellaneous Expenses (which refers to the Special Areas Reconstruction Association), and Scottish Office. We would also like to obtain the Third Reading of the East India Loans Bill, and Orders Nos. 4 and 5—two Report stages of Money Resolutions, which are exempted business. We do not intend to keep the House sitting late.

Motion made, and Question put, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Minister.]

The House divided: Ayes, 226; Noes, 84.
