HC Deb 02 July 1936 vol 314 cc618-21
Mr. ATTLEE

May I ask the Prime Minister what will be the business for next week?

The PRIME MINISTER

Monday.—Supply; Committee (12th Allotted Day). Post Office Vote for a Debate on Broadcasting.

Tuesday.—Report stage and Third Reading of the Midwives Bill.

Wednesday.—Supply; Committee (13th Allotted Day). Treasury Vote.

Thursday.—Supply; Committee (14th Allotted Day). The Vote will be announced later.

Friday.—Supply; Committee (9th Allotted Day, 2nd part). Home Office Vote for a Debate on Civil Liberties.

On any day, as opportunity offers, progress will be made with other Orders.

Mr. ATTLEE

On Wednesday we propose to put a Motion on the Paper dealing with the subject of Malnutrition, which concerns a number of Ministries. It will give an opportunity for discussing that subject without being hampered by an ordinary Departmental Supply Vote. May I ask the Prime Minister, further, what business he proposes to take to-day?

The PRIME MINISTER

I take note of the right hon. Gentleman's statement of how he proposes to utilise Wednesday. To-day we propose to suspend the Eleven o'Clock Rule, in order to obtain the Report stage and Third Reading of the Education (Scotland) Bill, and the Third Reading of the Crown Lands Bill.

Motion made, and Question put, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Minister.]

The House divided: Ayes, 218; Noes, 113.
