§ Mr. SNOWDENAfter the Debate in Committee of Supply has been concluded, the Government propose to take the Report stage of the Unemployment Insurance Money Resolution and the Lords' Amendments to the Architects (Registration) Bill.
§ Mr. McSHANEIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that there are 13 pages of Amendments to this Bill?
§ Sir HERBERT SAMUELIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that those Amendments are practically all agreed Amendments?
§ Mr. SNOWDENI understand the Amendments are practically all merely drafting Amendments. This Bill, which was originally a Private Member's Bill passed through all its stages in this House, and when it was put down in another place the Government starred it, and the Amendments are approved by the Government.
§ Sir B. CHADWICKIs it not the intention of the Government to deal with the Merchant Shipping (Safety Loadline Convention) Bill before we rise for the Summer Recess?
§ Mr. SNOWDENI understand it is necessary that this Bill should be passed as early as possible, and every effort will be made to pass it into law in the early part of the adjourned portion of the Session.
§ Mr. W. J. BROWNAre we to assume from the Chancellor of the Exchequer's statement about business to the end of the Session that there is no prospect of the introduction either of a Factories Bill or a Bill to ratify the Washington Eight Hour Day Convention before the House rises?
§ Mr. SNOWDENI think the hon. Member may safely assume that neither of those Bills will be dealt with in this part of the Session.
