HC Deb 22 March 1928 vol 215 cc572-5
Mr. RAMSAY MacDONALD

May I ask the Prime Minister what business he proposes to take next week? Perhaps, at the same time, the right hon. Gentleman will tell us when he proposes that the House should adjourn for the Easter Recess, and when it will reassemble?

The PRIME MINISTER

Monday, Second Reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill.

Tuesday, Remaining stages of the Consolidated Fund Bill.

Thursday, Second Reading of the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Bill.

On any day, if time permit, other Orders will be taken.

For the Easter Recess, we propose to rise on Thursday, 5th April, and to reassemble on Tuesday, 17th April.

Motion made, and Question put,

"That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Order No. 15, the Reports of the Navy Supplementary Estimate, 1927, and Civil Services Excess, 1926, and Business other than Business of Supply may be considered this day before Eleven o'Clock, that the Reports of Supply of the 15th and 19th March may be taken after Eleven of the Clock, and that the Proceedings on the Reports of Supply of the 15th and 19th March and on the Rating (Scotland) Amendment Bill be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Minister.]
