HC Deb 28 September 1926 vol 199 cc509-11

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this House, at its rising this day, do adjourn until Tuesday, 9th November."—[Commander Eyres Monsell.]

Mr. HARTSHORN

When the Motion which has just been moved is passed, the door of the central authority will be closed for a month, and unless something be done I suppose the great industrial crisis with which we have been faced—

Mr. DEPUTY-SPEAKER

On such a Motion as that which is now before the

House, the only argument which can be used is as to what day the House will adjourn. I have an idea that the right hon. Gentleman wishes to discuss the general question. I understand that when this Motion has been disposed of, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury intends to move, "That this House do now adjourn," and that will afford an opportunity for a general discussion.

Question put.
