HC Deb 29 May 1922 vol 154 c1653
53. Mr. KENYON

asked the President of the Board of Trade what countries or dominions, other than Australia, levy duties upon British trade catalogues; and, if there are such, will he state the amount of duty so levied?

Mr. SALDWIN

All the British self-governing Dominions and a considerable number of foreign countries levy duties on trade catalogues. The regulations affecting the liability to, and the amount of duty, are somewhat elaborate, but I am having a statement on the subject compiled on the basis of the information available. This will take a little time to prepare, but I will send it to the hon. Member as soon as it is completed.
