asked the Chief Secretary the number of officers and the number of constables of the Royal Irish Constabulary to be disbanded under the Constabulary (Ireland) Bill; the number of officers and constables under one year's service and the number under two and under three years' service who will be disbanded; and the annual amount of compensation to be paid to the officer or constable in each period?

Following is the reply:

About 300 officers and about 12,300 non-commissioned officers and men will be disbanded and will receive compensation allowances under the Constabulary (Ireland) Bill.

There are approximately 25 officers under one year's service, 50 under two years' service, and 22 under three years' service. There are approximately 2,000 men under one year's service, 3,500 under two years' service, and 720 under three years' service. The minimum annual rate of compensation allowance for officers is as follows:
