§ Mr. PENNEFATHER(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the proceedings in the Ard Fheis in Dublin yesterday, he can make any statement in regard to the proposed conference in London between the Government and the Irish signatories to the Treaty?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINMy right hon. Friend has asked me to apologise for his absence and to answer this question for him. As stated on Monday by my right hon. Friend, His Majesty's Government do not wish to make any statement on these subjects before seeing the representatives of the Provisional Government who are crossing on Thursday night. It is expected that a full statement will be made on Monday.
