Colonel NEWMANasked the Prime Minister whether the articles of agreement for a treaty between Great Britain and Southern Ireland, which have been embodied in the form of an Act by the Imperial Parliament, have been equally assented to by the elected assembly of Southern Ireland; whether Clause 1 of the Act provides for the immediate holding of a general election in the South of Ireland; and, having regard to the time that has already elapsed since the Act has been placed on the Statute Book, will he say when the election in question will be held?

MURRAYasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the present conditions in Ireland and the powers conferred by Section 1 (2) of The Irish Free State (Agreement) Act, 1922, he will consult with the Provisional Government of Ireland with the object of hastening the date upon which the elections shall be held in Southern Ireland?
