BRAMSDONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether the regulations governing the repayment of the cost of season tickets for officials on transfer from one establishment to another will be extended to officers and chief and petty officers of the Royal Navy similarly situated?
§ Mr. AMERYSeason tickets are only granted to civilian officials in lieu of the removal expenses for their families, furniture, etc., to which they are entitled on transfer from one establishment to another. Royal Naval personnel on transfer from one appointment to another are entitled only to free conveyance for themselves and personal baggage, and the question of removal expenses does not, therefore, arise. I regret that in the present state of public finance, it is not possible to contemplate the grant of season tickets to naval personnel between their old homes and new place of duty in the circumstances.
