§ 4.0 P.M.
§ The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Kellaway)I think it will be for the convenience of the Committee if, in opening my statement this afternoon, I indicate the lines on which I propose to proceed. I shall first deal with the postal budget for last year and the current year, and then with the question of the estimated surplus. I shall next set out the various proposals that I shall have to make, and from that I shall go on to the telephone service, and the reductions I intend to introduce there. I shall then have something to say on the question of wireless broadcasting, and, after that, I shall make a brief reference to the subject of air mails and then deal with one or two more interesting but perhaps less important matters.
