HC Deb 02 May 1922 vol 153 cc1137-8
2. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Under-Secretary for India whether any, and, if so, what, progress has been made in respect of the equal status question in Kenya and Fiji?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Edward Wood)

The position of Indians in Kenya is under active consideration between the India Office and the Colonial Office. I am not able to make any statement at present. As regards Fiji, I do not anticipate that any further action will be taken until a report by the deputation from India to Fiji has been received and considered.

Sir J. D. REES

Has that report not been received?

Mr. WOOD

It has not reached my hands.
