asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in a position to say whether the Provisional Government accept the responsibility for the payment of the pensions of the ex-professor pensioners of Queen's College, Cork, now University College, Cork; and whether the British Government will guarantee the payment of those pensions?

Any financial responsibility of His Majesty's Government in respect of the payment of the will pass under the Free State (Agreement) Bill to the Provisional Government, and to the extent of that responsibility the assurance given by my right hon. Friend the Lord Privy Seal on 19th December last, in respect of other classes of pensioners, will apply.
