§ 8. Captain GEEasked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been called to leaflets being distributed in this country dealing with alleged outrages by black French troops upon German women and children; and if any representation has been made to the French Government with a view of finding if there is any justification for these allegations?
Mr. HARMSWORTHThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The leaflets are a form of German propaganda, and the allegations contained in them are quite unreliable. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to my reply to the hon. Member for Aldershot on 27th October last, to which I have nothing to add.
