49. Sir F. HALLasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in bankruptcies in which the creditors have appointed a Committee of Inspection, the Board of Trade have issued instructions to the Trustees in Bankruptcy to take proceedings for the recovery of gaming losses paid by the bankrupt by cheque?
§ Mr. BALDWINNo, Sir. In such cases the acts of a Trustee in Bankruptcy are subject to the authority, not of the Board of Trade, but of the Committee of Inspection. I would refer my hon. Friend to Section 56 of the Bankruptcy Act of 1914.
Sir F. HALLAm I to understand that it rests with the inspector to see whether proceedings should or should not be taken?
§ Mr. BALDWINIt rests with the Committee of Inspection.
