20. Mr. MALONEasked the Minister of Labour, seeing that there is a dispute in progress in the building industry, that wages in this industry are already regulated under a sliding scale which varies with the cost of living, that the employers are demanding a super-cut, that in the matter of hours the employers propose that there shall be an extension to from 49 to 54 in summer, whether he will take steps to prevent this dispute from developing into a lock-out of the building employés?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAI am glad to say that the National Wages and Conditions Council for the Building Industry on the 17th March reached an agreement with regard to the alteration of wages and the question of working hours for the building industry.
