Mr. KILEYasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the recent meeting of the Central and Associated Chamber of Agriculture in London, when a resolution urging the repeal of the Safeguarding of Industries Act, in so far as it relates to agricultural implements and other requisites, was passed; if so, whether he has given it consideration; and what decision has been arrived at in this matter?
§ Mr. BALDWINThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The question whether agricultural implements should be excluded from Part II of the Safeguarding of Industries Act was fully debated by this House last August, and I am not prepared to recommend the reversal of the decision then taken.
