§ 40. Mr. HANNONasked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to cases in which landlords of housing property in towns have intimated to their tenants their intention to evict them on the expiration of the Rent Restriction Act, 1920, unless a very substantial increase in the existing rents is agreed to; and whether, in view of the continued depression in trade and the difficulties which still attach to the housing problem, he will consider the advisability of introducing a Bill to extend the Rent Restriction Act for a further period of one or two years?
§ Sir A. MONDI have not heard of any cases of the kind referred to in the first part of the question. As the Act does not expire until June, 1923, the question of its continuance or otherwise has not yet arisen.
