HC Deb 13 March 1922 vol 151 cc1754-5
74. Sir HARRY BRITTAIN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action the British Government propose to take to secure compensation for Mrs. Stan Harding, following the publication of the official correspondence with reference to her case?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I would refer my hon. Friend to my answer to his question on the 8th March.

Sir H. BRITTAIN

Is this not quite a unique case, and is it going to be left in statu quo?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

My hon. Friend knows that the Foreign Office has done everything possible.

Sir H. BRITTAIN

Except get compensation.

Lord R. CECIL

Do I understand that my hon. Friend thinks nothing further can be done?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

If my Noble Friend will read the correspondence, he can form his own opinion.
