§ 65. Colonel WEDGWOODasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he expects and intends that the Kenya Budget shall be made to balance during the coming financial year, so that there may be no need, by a grant-in-aid from British taxpayers, to provide the interest on the Kenya loan?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe Kenya Budget is for the calendar year 1922 and is balanced. Some economies in expenditure have been secured since the year began, and it is anticipated that additional economies will be possible. There is no reason to suppose that any grant-in-aid will be required from the British Government.
