§ 54. Sir C. OMANasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to secure that such delays as eight weeks do not occur between the arrival of a parcel of scientific plant from Germany, unprocurable in England, and its delivery to a university laboratory, which paid at once all dues demanded by the office in London?
Mr. YOUNGMy right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer is unaware of any reason, so far as the Customs Department is concerned, why such a delay should occur, provided the official requirements are complied with; but if my hon. Friend will give him particulars of the case to which he refers, he will gladly have enquiry made and inform him of the result.
