§ 20. Mr. BRIANTasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that the official shorthand writer to the Board of Trade, in connection with the Committee dealing with applications to impose a duty of 33⅓ per cent, on imported hollow-ware, charged£170 for a copy of the notes in question; and whether he can state the cost to his Department of taking the original notes?
§ Mr. BALDWINThe answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. I am unable to furnish the information asked for in the second part, as the firm of shorthand writers employed have not yet furnished their complete account, but the notes are paid for at the official rates laid down by the Treasury.
