§ Mr. HAYDAY(by Private Notice) asked the Postmaster-General whether the Postmaster-General of the Irish Administration has asked him to supply a list of Irishmen in the English service who are prepared to transfer their services to the Irish Post Office in the event 551 of a strike occurring, and whether, having regard to the separate Administration which has been created, he will give an assurance that no such transfer of staff will be arranged by his Department?
§ The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Kellaway)I have been asked by the Postmaster-General of the Provisional Government to ascertain what Irishmen serving in Great Britain desire transfer to the Post Office of Southern Ireland, and I have informed him that I cannot take any active steps pending the receipt of further particulars as to the vacancies to be filled and the terms of transfer, but that applications to be transferred will be sympathetically considered.
§ Mr. HAYDAYWill the right hon. Gentleman make himself well acquainted with the whole of the conditions, and, if those conditions are such as I have mentioned in the question, will he decline to allow his Department to be used as an agency for supplying men in those circumstances?
