HC Deb 01 March 1922 vol 151 c369
39. Mr. RAPER

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the bad German salt which has recently been arriving in both England and Ireland in large quantities, and to the fact that instructions have been issued by the authorities in Washington to analyse all imported salt in view of the serious impurities found in the salt at present being exported from Germany; and what action he is taking in this matter?

Sir A. MOND

I have made inquiries, and I find that very little salt is being imported into this country from Germany for purposes of food. There is no evidence that this salt is in such a condition as to involve any danger to health, but further investigations are being made.
