HC Deb 01 March 1922 vol 151 cc349-50
12. Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether it is proposed, in accordance with the recommendation of the Geddes Committee, to reduce the surplus of executive officers over pre-War numbers, in view of the fact that the Navy is now smaller than before the War?

Mr. AMERY

Yes, Sir, the number of executive officers will be reduced to a total considerably below the pre-War figure.

Sir R. HALL

Are we to understand from the hon. Gentleman's reply that the method of reduction recommended by the Geddes Committee is to be adopted?

Mr. AMERY

No, Sir, certainly not.
