The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Sir Arthur Boscawen)The existence of foot and-mouth disease on the premises in question was reported to the Ministry on the 20th instant. Slaughter was authorised on the 21st instant. In consequence of some delay in the delivery of the telegraphic instructions slaughter was not commenced until 1 p.m. on the 22nd instant. All the animals concerned were disposed of by 3 p.m. on the 24th.
