§ 20. Rear-Admiral SUETERasked the President of the Board of Trade how many claims the Grants Commissioners (Air Raids) have examined and how many remain to be examined; and whether any awards have yet been paid 27 to those unfortunate victims who have had their homes destroyed or damaged some six years ago?
Mr. YOUNGI would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the statement which I made on this subject on the 23rd instant in connection with the Supplementary Estimate for Grants for Compensation for Damage by Enemy Action. The Royal Commission on Suffering and Damage by Enemy Action have not yet made recommendations to the Treasury as regards any of the cases submitted to them, but, as explained in the statement referred to, they expect to present an Interim Report dealing with specially necessitous cases very shortly.
