HC Deb 21 February 1922 vol 150 cc1711-2
47. Mr. DOYLE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that the tax on matches is being largely used by dealers as a desire to further profiteering; and whether, in preparing the Estimates for the forthcoming Budget, he will so arrange the incidence of the tax as to give the Exchequer the benefit of any added charges?

Sir R. HORNE

I have no information in the sense suggested by my hon. Friend.
