HC Deb 16 February 1922 vol 150 cc1189-90
31. Mr. RONALD McNEILL

asked the Prime Minister whether the High Court of Appeal for Ireland, as constituted by Section 42 of the Government of Ireland Act, 1920, is now functioning; whether it is intended to be continued as so constituted after the transfer of the Government of Southern Ireland to the Irish Free State; and, if not, what provision will be made for appeals from the Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland and for the determination of questions arising in Northern Ireland under the Crown Cases Act, 1848?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The reply to the second and third parts depends upon the action taken by the Parliament of Northern Ireland under Article 12 of the Articles of Agreement.
