§ 41. Mr. A. WILLIAMSasked the Prime Minister whether he has received representations from boards of guardians, urban district councils, and other bodies in favour of re-establishing the Retail Prices Order so as to bring down the cost of living; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?
§ 48. Sir C. HIGHAMasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the wholesale price of imported meat is now nearly down to pre-War level; and whether, in view of this fact, he will take action to see that the consuming public get the benefit of these wholesale reductions in price?
§ Mr. BALDWINI have been asked to reply. In a very small number of cases resolutions have been received from public bodies in favour of the renewal of the control of retail prices by the Government. For the rest, I would refer to the answer given on 10th February to the hon. Member for Abertillery.
