HC Deb 13 February 1922 vol 150 c600
41. Mr. A. WILLIAMS

asked the Prime Minister whether he has received representations from boards of guardians, urban district councils, and other bodies in favour of re-establishing the Retail Prices Order so as to bring down the cost of living; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?

48. Sir C. HIGHAM

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the wholesale price of imported meat is now nearly down to pre-War level; and whether, in view of this fact, he will take action to see that the consuming public get the benefit of these wholesale reductions in price?

Mr. BALDWIN

I have been asked to reply. In a very small number of cases resolutions have been received from public bodies in favour of the renewal of the control of retail prices by the Government. For the rest, I would refer to the answer given on 10th February to the hon. Member for Abertillery.
