asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Board of Trade lays before the Committees dealing with Orders under Part II of the Safeguarding of Industries Act statistics of the employment in the industries which would be favourably or adversely affected by the imposition of duties?

Mr. BALDWIN

No, Sir. The Committees, of course, take the necessary steps to obtain any evidence that they may wish to consider, and the Board of Trade put at the disposal of the Committee any relevant information in their possession which the Committee require.
