HC Deb 13 February 1922 vol 150 c606
69. Mr. T. A. LEWIS

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether, in accordance with his promise given on the 23rd June last, the situation with regard to the salaries of the Joint Parliamentary Secretaries to the Treasury has been considered?

The Prime Minister has discussed this question with the Patronage Secretaries and myself, and we are satisfied that it is necessary to retain the services of both my right hon. Friend and my hon. and gallant Friend. My right hon. Friend has placed his services at the disposal of the Prime Minister without salary, and it has been decided to accept that arrangement, which will take effect from 31st December last, from which date only one salary will be charged upon the Votes.

Which one?

The other!
