asked the Prime Minister whether a date has been fixed for the Genoa Conference?

The PRIME MINISTER

The date fixed by the Inter-Allied Conference at Cannes was 8th March, 1922.

46. Mr. L. MALONE

asked the Prime Minister what countries have notified their intention to participate in the forthcoming Conference at Genoa?

The PRIME MINISTER

According to the latest information received from the Italian Government, the following countries have so far accepted the invitation to Genoa: Japan, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Esthonia, Latvia, Poland, Czecho-Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Roumania, Greece, Bulgaria, Holland, Albania, Luxemburg.

The French Government have explained that they do not consider a formal reply on their part necessary, as they were represented at the Inter-Allied Conference at Cannes, in accordance with whose decision the invitations have been issued. Of the British Dominions invited, acceptances have so far been received from South Africa and Australia.

Have any definite refusals been received?

The PRIME MINISTER

No.

Lieut.-Colonel ARCHER-SHEE:

Has any representation been received from the French Government asking that the Conference should be postponed for three months?

The PRIME MINISTER

There has been a suggestion of a postponement from the French Government.

Has any reply been received from America to the invitation?

The PRIME MINISTER

No.

Will this House get any opportunity of discussing whether our representatives are to sit in the same Conference with the Russian delegates at Genoa?
