HC Deb 09 February 1922 vol 150 cc301-2
66. Lieut.-Colonel POWNALL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the recent decision in Mr. Attorney-General v. Swan; and whether he will in the year's financial measures introduce legislation to relieve cricket and similar clubs from their liability under the Finance (New Duties) Act, 1916?

Sir R. HORNE

I am aware of the decision in the case referred to; but as I do not know whether the respondents propose to appeal against it, it would be undesirable for me at this stage to make any comment on the matter.
