HC Deb 11 April 1922 vol 153 c203
16. Mr. WATERSON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in a position to state when the Irish Indemnity Bill will be introduced; and whether the proposed Commission to inquire into the claims for compensation in respect of damage to property has yet been appointed?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I regret that I am still unable to add anything to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member on 28th March.

Mr. WATERSON

When will the right hon. Gentleman be in a position to state a date for the introduction of this Bill, seeing that we have had the question down for three weeks, and will he reply to the latter portion of the question, as to the proposed Commission, and the names of the Commissioners?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The Commission will be set up almost immediately, and the Bill will be introduced after Easter. I cannot say exactly when.
