HC Deb 06 April 1922 vol 152 c2425
71. Mr. STURROCK

asked the Postmaster General whether he is now in a position to make a definite statement as to the new postal rates which are under consideration?

Mr. PEASE

My right hon. Friend is not in a position to make a statement. The matter is under the consideration of the Government.

Mr. STURROCK

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that the continued uncertainty as to a decision in this matter is causing very serious unemployment in every branch of the trades affected by the postal rates, and will he bring that to an end by making an announcement?

Mr. PEASE

I realise the importance of the matter, which is in the hands of the Cabinet at the present time.

Mr. WATERSON

May we expect an answer before the Easter Recess?
