§ Dr. MACNAMARAThere are 131 Employment Exchange officials, permanent or temporary, dealing directly with boys and girls in the County of London. The total number of boys and girls placed in employment during 1921 was 25,358, of whom about 5,300 were placed in their first situation after leaving school. The officials above referred to, I should add, deal with the administration of unemployment benefit for boys and girls, and do a great deal of other work in the way of giving advice regarding openings for employment which is not reflected in the mere figures of numbers placed in employment.
