§ 44. Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCKasked the Prime Minister whether it is intended to add to the strength of the Crown forces in Ireland?
§ The PRIME MINISTERIt is proposed to strengthen the Crown Forces in Ireland. When the arrangements are complete, a statement will be made to Parliament. It is not intended to send any of the Reserves to Ireland.
§ Captain W. BENNWhen the right hon. Gentleman makes that statement, will he also say what is the annual cost of maintaining the war in Ireland?
§ Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCKIs he aware that the whole trouble in Ireland arises from the fact that the Government has treated the Irish question as a military, and not as a political question; and will not the sending of more troops only add to the trouble?
