HC Deb 30 May 1921 vol 142 c560
12. Mr. SITCH

asked the Secretary for Mines whether his attention has been drawn to the present high price of coal; and whether any steps will be taken to limit these present prices to a reasonable figure in the interests of consumers generally?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Bridgeman)

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply of 12th May to the hon. Member for Walthamstow. The matter is being very carefully watched, and action will be taken where it appears that prices are being charged which cannot be justified by increased costs referred to in that reply.
