HC Deb 25 May 1921 vol 142 c141
32. Mr. GILBERT

asked the Secretary of State for India whether any further steps have been taken by his Department to place all the employés engaged at the Indian Stores, Belvedere Road, S.E., upon a pension basis; and if such a scheme has been decided upon can he state the date when it will come into force?

Mr. PARKER (Lord of the Treasury)

The High Commissioner, who now controls the India Store Depot, has agreed with representatives of the staff side of the National Whitley Council to place the bulk of the employés upon a pension basis, subject to certain modifications in their terms of employment. If these are accepted by the men concerned, the scheme will come into force as from 1st April last.
