HC Deb 25 May 1921 vol 142 cc142-3
Mr. CLYNES

(by Private Notice) asked the Leader of the House whether he can now make any announcement with regard to the coal industry dispute?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

As the House is aware, the Government has kept throughout in close touch with the situation, but there are still no signs of agreement between the parties to the dispute. The Government has, therefore, decided to make another effort to find a solution, and to summon the miners and the mine-owners to a conference on Friday next.
