HC Deb 24 May 1921 vol 142 cc3-4
3. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the Viceroy and Governor-General has visited Lahore to consider the disputes relating to the shrines of Gardwaras; and, if so, whether he can make any communication on this subject and the payment of increased grants for payment of compensation to sufferers by the disturbances in the Punjab?

Mr. MONTAGU

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I will place in the Library a copy of the speech in which the Viceroy dealt with the two points to which the hon. Baronet refers.
