§ 89. Sir J. BUTCHERasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is aware that a vacancy has existed for the past four or five months in the post of shipping inspector at the North Wall in Dublin, under the Department of Agriculture, and that a considerable number of applications for that post have been made by pre-War pensioners of the Royal Irish Constabulary; and whether, in filling up this post and other posts under the Irish Government at Dublin Castle and elsewhere, due regard will be given to the claims of pre-War Royal Irish Constabulary pensioners who are in a state of extreme financial destitution?
