HC Deb 14 June 1921 vol 143 cc223-4
40. Mr. LANE-FOX

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the panel of arbitrators under the Agriculture Act selected by the Lord Chief Justice has now been constituted; whether any disputes between landlord and tenant have yet come before them; and whether this machinery is working satisfactorily?

Major BARNSTON (Comptroller of the Household)

I have been asked to reply. The Lord Chief Justice is now considering lists of arbitrators which have been submitted to him by the Ministry and the various institutions interested, and I understand that his Lordship will shortly be in a position to complete the panel to which my hon. Friend refers. Pending the completion of this panel, the Ministry has continued, with the concurrence of the parties interested, to appoint arbitrators on the lines hitherto adopted.
