HC Deb 09 June 1921 vol 142 c2057
77. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Shah's Government has cancelled the concessions granted by its predecessors to Messrs. Lynch and to other British firms operating in Persia?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Cecil Harmsworth)

The late Persian Government informed His Majesty's Minister at Teheran on 3rd May that the Persian Transport Company's road concession had been cancelled, owing to the company's failure to comply with its terms and to the expiration of the agreement. The company, however, deny these allegations and the matter is still under discussion. No other British concessions have been cancelled by the Persian Government.
